About Nova

The predominant hiker of the Pacific Northwest

Nova

The Mountain Dog

Nova isn't your average trail dog. She's a mountain athlete — the kind of dog who reads terrain better than most humans, who finds the efficient line through talus fields, and who leads the way up ridgelines with a confidence that makes you wonder if she was a mountain goat in a past life.

Based in Washington State, Nova's home range is the Cascade Range — from the valleys around Leavenworth to the glaciated peaks of the North Cascades. She's currently going viral for her insane big mountain freeskiing, but this site is about the foundation: the thousands of feet of elevation she's earned on four paws.

This project is Nova's legacy — a record of every adventure and a way to share what she's learned in the mountains with others who want to explore these incredible places.

The Mission

Every hike is tracked with GPS, documented with photos, and written up with trail conditions and beta. The goal is simple: build the most comprehensive record of one dog's mountain life, and make it useful for others looking to explore the same terrain.

GPX tracks are available for download on every hike page. Use them, follow Nova's lines, and get out there.
